Da Nang street food is mostly noodles and rice paper: mi Quang with turmeric noodles, bun cha ca fishcake soup, crisp banh xeo pancakes, pork belly rolls called banh trang cuon thit heo, banh canh and sweet che. Most dishes cost VND 30,000–50,000 in 2026. The best-known shops are west of the Han River, 3.3–4.4 km from Sala Danang Beach Hotel, about 10–15 minutes by Grab. Closer to the hotel, Bep Cuon is a 7-minute walk and the An Thuong streets 21 minutes.
This guide skips seafood restaurants and night markets. It covers noodle, pancake and roll shops with checked addresses, hours and prices.
Eight Da Nang dishes, and what they cost in 2026
Most of these dishes began in Quang Nam, the rural province that joined Da Nang City in mid-2025, and they are cheap, quick and eaten on low stools. Prices below come from 2026 food guides; the Michelin-listed shops further down carry the guide’s single-dong price symbol.
| Dish | What you get | Typical price | Best time |

| Mi Quang | Turmeric rice noodles, a little rich broth, pork and shrimp or chicken, a sesame cracker | VND 25,000–50,000 | Breakfast; before 10 am |
| Bun cha ca | Rice vermicelli in a light tomato-and-pineapple broth with fried and steamed fishcake | About VND 35,000 | From 6 am |

| Banh trang cuon thit heo | Boiled pork belly rolled with herbs and dipped in mam nem, a fermented anchovy sauce | VND 35,000–50,000 | Lunch or dinner |

| Bun mam nem | Vermicelli, pork and the same anchovy sauce, tossed rather than dipped | About VND 30,000 | Lunch |

Two clusters you can walk between
Mi Quang 1A and Bun Cha Ca 109 are 400 m apart, five minutes on foot, so one ride covers a two-bowl breakfast. Banh Xeo Ba Duong, Banh Canh Yen and the Che Lien branch on Hoang Dieu Street sit within a 7-minute walk of each other, which makes an easy late lunch with dessert.
Street food within walking distance of Lam Hoanh Street
The east bank has fewer old family shops, but enough to eat well without a car. Our location guide has the beach and An Thuong walking times.
| Place | What to eat | Address | From the hotel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bep Cuon | Rice-paper roll platters, northern and southern dishes | 31–33 Tran Bach Dang St | 560 m, 7 min walk |
| Bun Mam Van branch | Bun mam nem, about VND 30,000 (June 2026) | 130 Bui Huu Nghia St | Under 1 km, about 11 min walk |
| Co Chu Nho | Duck congee, poached duck, duck salad | 36 Phan Tu St | 2.2 km, 29 min walk |
| Banh Xeo 76 | Banh xeo, corn rolls, grilled-pork noodles | 85A Le Van Huu St | About 3.5 km by car; closed Sun |
| Shamballa | Vegetarian dishes with Vietnamese flavors | 277 Tran Hung Dao St | 3.3 km by car, on the river |
Bep Cuon takes cards and opens 10.30 am–9 pm; Co Chu Nho serves until 11 pm, and until 3 am on Mondays. The Son Tra night market is about 25 minutes’ walk west, near the Dragon Bridge, if you want stalls rather than shops.
Getting to the west-bank shops by Grab
OSRM puts the noodle shops 3.3–4.4 km from the hotel by road, 3–5 minutes on empty streets. Allow 10–15 minutes in practice, and 30–50% more between 7 and 8 am or 5 and 6.30 pm.
Grab’s fare table, updated 8 July 2026, lists Da Nang GrabCar (four seats) at VND 27,000 up to 2 km and VND 12,175 per km after that, plus a small time charge and a platform fee of VND 5,000–19,000. By our arithmetic, a 4.4 km ride comes to roughly VND 60,000–80,000 before surge pricing. A GrabBike, VND 12,273 for the first 2 km, comes to about VND 25,000–30,000.
Alleys are narrow: for Banh Xeo Ba Duong, set the drop-off to 280 Hoang Dieu Street and walk the last stretch of the alley.
When to eat: fitting shop hours around the hotel day
Popular noodle shops can run out of broth by 11 am or noon, so arrive before 10 am for mi Quang or bun cha ca. That overlaps the hotel buffet, served 6.30–10 am and included in some rates. A workable split: one or two noodle breakfasts across the river, the buffet on other mornings, banh xeo for a late lunch, che in the afternoon. Many street shops wind down by 9 pm.
How to order, pay and stay well
Ordering
Most of these shops serve one or two dishes. Say the dish and hold up fingers for the number of bowls; “dac biet” gets the full set of toppings and “khong cay” means not spicy. Di Hoa has a photo menu. Elsewhere, pointing at a neighbor’s bowl works.
Paying
Mi Quang 1A, Bun Cha Ca 109, Ba Duong, Que Xua, Banh Canh Yen, Di Hoa and Co Chu Nho are cash only, per their Michelin listings. Carry VND 20,000 and 50,000 notes: small stalls often cannot change a 200,000 note. Tipping is not expected.
Staying well
Pick shops full of local customers, where food turns over fast, and order dishes cooked in front of you. Noodle broth should arrive close to boiling. Machine-made tube ice, the cylinders with a hole through the middle, is treated as safe by 2026 guides; cloudy, chipped block ice is the kind to refuse. Herbs are rinsed in tap water, which is not for drinking; a sensitive stomach can skip them at first.
Questions about Da Nang street food
What is the one dish to try in Da Nang?
Mi Quang. The dish began in Quang Nam, which became part of Da Nang City in 2025, and every district serves it: wide turmeric noodles with only a little broth, pork and shrimp, peanuts and a sesame cracker broken on top. Mi Quang 1A on Hai Phong Street and Que Xua on Nui Thanh Street both have 2026 Michelin listings, and most bowls cost VND 25,000–50,000.
Is street food in Da Nang safe to eat?
Generally yes, if you choose busy shops with high turnover and food cooked to order. Hot noodle soups are among the safest choices. Drink bottled water rather than tap water, accept tube ice with a hole in the middle, and skip raw herbs for the first few days if your stomach is sensitive.
How much should I budget for street food in Da Nang?
About VND 100,000–200,000 a person a day covers three street meals and a dessert, based on 2026 prices of VND 30,000–50,000 a dish and VND 20,000–30,000 for che. From Sala Danang, add the Grab rides: roughly VND 60,000–80,000 each way by car to the west-bank shops, or about VND 25,000–30,000 by GrabBike.
Can vegetarians eat street food in Da Nang?
Partly. Many dishes use fish sauce, anchovy sauce or meat broth, so a plain request to leave out the meat is not enough. Vegetarian restaurants are the safer route: Shamballa, 277 Tran Hung Dao Street on the east bank, has a 2026 Bib Gourmand and is 3.3 km from the hotel.
